What’s New?
As a dedicated (and growing) community of members, we’ve come together to create an amazing hub for people from all over our great county to share and interact. As a part of our association, we want you to always stay informed about what we’re doing and what’s on our agenda. Check out our latest updates and stay in the loop.

2019 squad lists
The YTBA is very different to most other counties in the terms of the numbers & strength of its membership.
This in turn means that more bowlers compete in our trials than any other county and this number is steadily increasing year by year.
The YTBA’s aim, is to provide its members with an equal opportunity to compete and secure a place in their respective county squad.
As a result, the following selection process has been adopted by the YTBA which was agreed on unanimously by the YTBA selection committee and is compliant with current ICC rules;
A bowler competing in the trials will only compete in their relevant age category (U12, U16, U22, Adult or Senior).
As a result a bowlers scores will only count in their relevant age category.
Bowlers can & will be considered for selection in other age categories where the selection committee deem it appropriate.
If a bowler is invited to join the squad of another age category, they will do so only as a draft/wildcard and as stated above their scores will not go through with them. This ensures that the placings in each age category remain unaffected by the movement from bowlers in other age categories and provide a true reflection of the results in each age category.
The top 2 bowlers in each age category will be offered the opportunity to bowl at least 2 games in the county qualifiers (Adults & Seniors) and county finals (U12, U16 & U22).

Yorkshire Area Trials Managers report
I want to thank everyone that took part all 121 competitors. This was a very impressive turnout and an increase on last year’s entries.
Everyone did amazing on what was a challenging condition.
It was good to see some old faces coming out of the wood work and a lot of new fresh faces. I would also like to thank the family members, helpers and everyone else who turned up to support our great county.
Another big shout out must go to Jeff Taylor and his team for letting us use his centre for 2 whole weekends.
The organising of all the scores and the double checking that has taken place all 121 bowlers x 6 scores we must give Mark Stoner a huge thank you for taking his time out of his busy schedule to do this.
And finally a big well done to Callum Simons on bowling a perfect game of 300 and had a total of 1380
Entries in each division
Out of all the competitors the break down goes like this
Under 12’s - 15 entries
Under 16’s - 22 entries
Under 22’s - 14 entries
Adults - 40 - entries
Seniors – 30 - entries
A huge turn out so again thank you
This year we did something we haven’t done for a few years and that is not tell anyone what the pattern was this was intentional to let the bowlers work it out. The whole event bowled on the Kegel Challenge series pattern Tower of Pisa. This is a 41 foot pattern with dual Conditioner made up of Fire and Ice. The ratio was 3.67: 1. The pattern seemed to hold up very well but it did seem to throw some bowlers off.
Fundraising
Thank you to all who bought numbers on the various number boards. We completed 5 boards and this raised £125.00.
Next year
We have started already looking at venues next year so if you have anywhere in mind that would give up there centre for a weekend or 2 and will give us a reasonable lineage rate please email the chairman or secretary.
Yorkshire Area Champs
Please remember our Yorkshire area championships is to be held at shipley later this year (date to be confirmed but we would love to see you all booked in this event.
Yorkshire Squad Selection meeting
The Selection meeting is going to be held on Monday 3rd February and all successful bowlers will be notified and then we will publish them in the face book group and on our new website.

A new Initiative from our chairman

Yorkshire's best bowler & Volunteer of the year
Due to the success of Adam Michaels bowling career during the 2017/18 season, Our chairman has decided to honour the best Yorkshire bowler of the year and best volunteer of the year.

This isn't just if you win everything but how well you do and how much effort you put in to your own careers etc as for the volunteer of the year this will go to the person that does a lot for the sport within the Yorkshire boundaries.

Yorkshire Trials to be held at Shipley
The 2019 trials are going to be held at shipley once again.
This is because of the great co-operation that Jeff Taylor has given to the YTBA, with great lineage rates, top quality lanes with the use of his Kegel Flex and investing in our sport with sponsorship and letting Yorkshire bowlers use Go Bowling's SPECTO Bowling system at a discounted rate.

Training Sessions
This year your committee are looking in to hosting a couple of get together training sessions
This is so we can get the teams ready for this years separate ICC competitions
